Liam Fox, Defence Secretary, and George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer, are locked in a fight. Each wants the other to pay the £20 billion cost, over ten years, of buying a replacement for the Trident nuclear deterrent. Fox looks like he lost yesterday, after Osborne publicly rebuked him, telling Bloomberg:
